Why does a mother give birth to a baby though it is an excruciating task or why a soldier does encounter the enemy though he knows it is a risky mission?

Why does a mother give birth to a baby though it is an excruciating task or why a soldier does encounter the enemy though he knows it is a risky mission?
Yes, these questions are indeed genuine and the answers are much more valid.

Let us try to understand what Poojyasri Paripoornananda Swamiji is trying to communicate regarding the likes and dislikes Vs Duty mindedness.

The individual shall perform one’s own duty with firm determination and strong conviction. Sometimes, one may develop a sort of disliking towards one’s sense of duty. But if the individual start performing it with great zeal and attention, then that eventually gives the pleasure of doing it. Doesn’t the bitter guard juice taste better when we take it regularly? Of course, it does. In a similar manner, if we make up our mind and strongly determined for doing so, then there is nothing difficult in this world. Some people may attend for a spiritual discourse instead of killing the time by nonsensical means. What is the reason? Because they think that going to discourse would be a superior choice.
A mother is prepared to give birth to a baby though she knows that she is going to experience the intolerable pain. Why? Because the mother has a strong liking towards giving birth to her baby. A soldier never runs away from the enemy though he gets terribly injured. He fights for his nation even from the death-bed. What is the reason behind this sacrifice? It is very obvious that he had the awareness that his life becomes meaningful in performing his duty with honesty and sincerity.
On the other hand, if anybody gets inclined to betray the nation and turns out to be a traitor, he may enjoy the benefits temporarily but he falls from his dignity or virtue forever. Hence one shall carry out the duties based with conviction and duty mindedness but not with respect to the personal liking or disliking.
That was what announced in Bhagavath Geeta (counselling given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in order to perform his duty instead of thinking about his liking or disliking). It says that even if the life gets ended up in carrying out one’s own duty without any second thought is always prosperous and the other way it creates unnecessary fear if we perform the duty based on our liking or disliking.
